“Infatti! Questa è una mangusta immaginaria”.

IN THE INFINITE GARDEN – immersive performance

An immersive performance realized in collaboration with the media-artist and musician Michele Pedrazzi

Working on a new immersive performance with our dear Michele Pedrazzi, german-italian media artist and musician.

In 2025, during an artistic residency at Casa De Velazquez in Madrid, we developed a four-handed improvisation method to make large-format drawings for an installation but we soon realized that this exercise has its own expressive force that magnetizes the eyes of the audience. Large-format drawing is a liberating act: it demands a sweeping, fluid movement that engages the whole body, transforming the brushstroke into a dance movement.

Michele Pedrazzi joined us in Madrid and, together, we laid the foundations for this performance, focusing on the dialogue between music and movement.

The performance is a constantly evolving entity: we began simply by painting to the rhythm of music, but we soon discovered its theatrical side. From this period of reflection and planning emerged the concept for a one-hour immersive performance, combining a triptych of large-scale collective drawing for 4 artists, musical improvisation – both classical and electronic, experimental sound design, readings from the Coudreau diaries, and video mapping: the aim is to to create an immersive and theatrical performance, surrounding the public with a paper jungle, enhancing the immersive effect.

This is a montage showing the research and experiments we have carried out between Casa de Velazquez and Bologna, from 2025 to the present day.
